UNIMAS Library/CAIS Scavenger Hunt

1. Take a picture of yourself outside Petary/CAIS

2. Stop by the CAIS circulation desk (if you need help with these questions). Explain that you're 
doing a scavenger hunt before getting answers to the following questions.

a. How long can a student check out a book?

= 10 books only

b. How long can an undergraduate student check out an item?
= 14 days

c. Can UNIMAS students go to other university's library?
= Yes. However, other universities does not allow their books to be borrowed. Instead use interlibrary loan. 

d. Can I return a book/DVD I borrowed from PETARY Pre-University Studies to PETARY Main (and vise-versa)
= No. Need to return to PETARY Pre-University

e. If I need help finding information, who can I refer to?

    i. What is their name: Sir Jambri
    ii. How can I contact them: by going to the Advisory Advice Centre

3. Find ONE Periodical/Journal relevant to your programme (HRD/CS/Counseling/Psychology)

a. Find the periodical/journal on the shelves.

b. What is the name of the periodical/journal
= Psychobiology

c. Write down the call number of the periodical/journal.

4. Find ONE book you would use for ONE of the courses/classes you are taking now using the CAIS One Search

a. What search terms did you use to find the book?
=Psychology

b. Find the book on the shelves and take a picture of it with you.

 

c. Write down the call numbers of the books to the immediate right and left of it.

d. Books are arranged by subject. What seems to be the subject for that area of the 
library collection

5. Using the CAIS One Search, do a search to find a scholarly/peer-reviewed article about 
metacognition. Once you've found an article, click on the title link and take a picture of the 
record page.

6. Take a picture and write a description of the best place for an individual to study at CAIS

The best place to study individually due to the table being very suitable for students to be in their 'zone' when studying. There are many tables such as this placed in level 1 and 2 in PETARY. 

7. What are three ways you can contact a librarian? Be specific!

i. Through Librarian counter, which is located around the PETARY building.
ii. Through PETARY office phone.
iii. Through PETARY OneSearch Website.

8. Write a summary (paragraph) of some cool things about the UNIMAS Library/CAIS. (Take a picture of it if you can!)

             The best place in PETARY would be the student lounge; it consists of 3 levels in the center of the PETARY. In the first level, you would have pillows where you can stay and take a nap; it is mostly full after lunchtime due to students taking their time to relax on the floor pillows. The second level consists of a TV and a DVD player; there is also a table for students to use their Laptops. Lastly, at the third level, shown in the picture above, there is a photo booth for people to take pictures. There is also a place to relax.
